Adannu Underwear: Sheer, Mesh and Ultra-Thin Compared
Share
Adannu is the brand people find us for when they are looking for something see-through. Search data from our own store says the same thing: adannu underwear is one of the handful of brand queries that already sits on the edge of page one — and until now there has been nowhere on this site explaining what the range actually contains.
Here is the short version. We currently carry 46 Adannu styles in stock, priced from $3.99 to $14.99. Nineteen of those are mesh or sheer. The rest are cotton and modal everyday briefs, bikinis and jockstraps. This guide covers all three lines, with the emphasis where Adannu is strongest: transparent and ultra-thin mesh.
What Adannu Underwear Covers: Three Fabric Lines
Adannu’s catalogue splits cleanly into three fabric families, and the price differences between them are small enough that fabric, not budget, should drive your choice.
- Sheer mesh (nylon-spandex, typically 67% nylon): $5.90–$13.50. Briefs, bikinis, boxer shorts, trunks and jockstraps. This is the line Adannu is known for, and the reason most people search the brand name at all.
- Cotton (95% cotton with spandex): $4.90–$6.90. Low-rise briefs, seamless briefs with 3D pouches, wide-waistband briefs, bikinis and a cotton jockstrap. Opaque, everyday, easiest to live with.
- Modal (95% modal, plus micro-modal): $4.90–$7.90. Bikini briefs, boxer briefs, U-pouch briefs and one lace-panel style. Softer than cotton, cooler than cotton, still fully opaque except where a mesh panel is added.
The mesh line overlaps the other two deliberately: several styles pair a modal or cotton body with a mesh panel, so you get the hand-feel of modal with the look of mesh.

If you only buy one, the Ultra-Thin 0.01mm Mesh Briefs at $5.90 is the safest entry point: cheap enough to treat as an experiment, and the cut is a conventional brief rather than anything extreme. If you want the same fabric with leg coverage instead, the Transparent Mesh Boxer Shorts at $6.90 are the direct boxer equivalent.
How See-Through Is Too See-Through
“Transparent” is not one thing. Within the Adannu mesh line there are three practical levels, and knowing which one you are buying prevents most disappointment.
- Semi-sheer mesh (60% nylon-cotton blends). You can see the weave and a suggestion of shape, but the fabric reads as cloth rather than film. This is the level most people actually want for anything beyond the bedroom, and it is what the 5-colour mesh briefs and the cotton-nylon boxer shorts sit at.
- Transparent mesh (67% nylon). Clearly see-through under direct light. Most of the 67% nylon briefs and boxer shorts fall here — including the transparent bikini and the transparent boxer shorts.
- Ultra-thin 0.01mm mesh. The lightest material in the range. Closest to nothing, and also the most delicate. Treat it as occasion wear rather than a daily driver.
A useful sanity check: hold the fabric up to a window. If you can read text through it, it is level three, and it will not survive being worn under rough outer layers.
What Ultra-Thin 0.01mm Mesh Actually Means
The 0.01mm figure is the brand’s own designation for its lightest fabric weight — it is a marketing grade, not a laboratory measurement you should expect to verify with calipers. What it means in practice:
- Weight: noticeably lighter in the hand than the standard 67% nylon mesh. Several Adannu styles share the designation, so you can get it in a high-cut brief, a high-waisted brief and a pouch brief.
- Breathability: excellent. This is the fabric to pick for summer or for long days in a hot climate.
- Durability: the trade-off. Fine mesh snags on fingernails, rough seams, velcro and jewellery. Wash it in a mesh laundry bag and never with anything that has a zip.
- Modesty: minimal. If the idea of visible outline makes you uncomfortable in a given setting, this is not the fabric for that setting.
Mesh Boxer Shorts vs Mesh Briefs: Which Cut
| Mesh briefs / bikinis | Mesh boxer shorts / trunks | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $5.90–$7.99 | $6.90–$13.50 |
| Coverage | Minimal | Thigh covered |
| Under trousers | Fewer lines | Leg can bunch under slim trousers |
| Airflow | Maximum | Good, slightly less |
| First-time buyer | Brief is the honest test | Easier if minimal coverage feels like too much |
Trunks sit between the two. The transparent boxer shorts and trunks collection is the place to compare all of them side by side.
How to Size Adannu Low-Rise Sheer Briefs
Most Adannu sheer styles are cut low-rise, and low-rise is where sizing goes wrong most often. Two things matter:
- Measure where the waistband actually sits. A low-rise brief sits on the hip, not the natural waist. Measuring at the navel and then buying to that number is the most common reason a low-rise brief feels too big in the body.
- Do not size down for a tighter look. Mesh has less recovery than cotton-spandex. A brief that is too small does not simply feel snug — the seams take the load and the mesh tears at the leg opening.
If you are between two sizes, take the larger one for mesh and the smaller one for modal. Modal relaxes with wear; mesh does not.
Adannu vs Seobean vs Tauwell: Sheer Coverage
All four brands we carry do some mesh. They do it in very different proportions.
| Brand | Styles in stock | Sheer / mesh styles | Share | Price range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adannu | 46 | 19 | 41% | $3.99–$14.99 |
| DomiGe | 139 | 26 | 19% | $2.90–$32.00 |
| Seobean | 87 | 6 | 7% | $6.90–$29.00 |
| Tauwell | 29 | 3 | 10% | $4.50–$49.00 |
Read that as a shopping shortcut. Adannu is the brand to start with if sheer is the point — nearly half its range is built for it, and the entry price is $3.99. The full Adannu collection also covers cotton and modal, so a second order does not have to be sheer at all. DomiGe has the widest sheer selection in absolute numbers because its catalogue is three times larger. Seobean and Tauwell are worth a look only when you want mesh as a detail on an otherwise conventional garment.
Washing Sheer Nylon Mesh Underwear
- Hand wash, or machine wash cold on a delicates cycle inside a mesh laundry bag.
- No fabric softener — it coats the fibres and kills the airflow that is the whole reason you bought mesh.
- Never tumble dry. Nylon mesh loses its shape and can melt at dryer temperatures. Dry flat, away from direct sun.
- Keep it away from zips, hooks and velcro in the same load. One snag runs the whole panel.
- Expect a shorter life than cotton. A $5.90 sheer brief worn weekly is realistically a season or two, which is exactly why the low entry price matters.
Who Should Skip Sheer Underwear
Sheer styles are not a default upgrade on opaque ones. Skip them if:
- You want one drawer of underwear that works for every situation. Mesh is a mood, not a baseline.
- You are hard on clothes — physical work, rough outer fabrics, anything abrasive.
- You dislike doing laundry by hand or owning a laundry bag.
- You want maximum support. The pouch shaping on Adannu mesh briefs is real, but cotton and modal hold their shape better over a long day.
For those cases, the cotton and modal sides of the Adannu range — the $4.90 seamless cotton brief, the $5.90 modal boxer brief, the $6.90 wide-waistband brief — are the better spend.
Adannu Underwear: Common Questions
Is Adannu underwear see-through? Nineteen of the 46 styles are mesh or sheer; the cotton and modal styles are opaque. Check the fabric line before you buy — the product title says mesh, sheer or transparent when it applies.
How much does Adannu underwear cost? $3.99 to $14.99 per piece across the whole range. Most sheer briefs are $5.90.
Does Adannu run small? The cuts are low-rise, so measure at the hip rather than the waist. Between sizes, size up in mesh and down in modal.
What is the cheapest way to try it? The mesh jockstrap at $3.99, or the $5.90 ultra-thin mesh brief if you want a standard cut.
