Trunks are the middle ground of men's underwear — shorter than boxer briefs, with more coverage than briefs, and a leg that sits high on the thigh. This collection gathers low-rise trunks in modal, cotton, mesh and rayon, all built around a supportive pouch that keeps everything in place without squeezing.

Why choose trunks

Trunks give more thigh coverage than a brief, so they do not ride up as easily under slim trousers, but they stay cooler than boxer briefs in warm weather. the low-rise cotton trunks and the cotton trunk are everyday cotton and low-rise cotton options; the rayon trunk is a rayon blend that drapes softer against the skin.

Fabric and feel

• Modal — the modal trunk and the modal boxer trunk are smooth, breathable and resistant to pilling, the usual upgrade from basic cotton.
• Cotton — the breathable cotton trunk and the colour-block cotton trunk are the safe, hard-wearing everyday choice.
• Mesh — the lightweight mesh trunk and the lace mesh trunk are see-through and airy for hot days or the gym.

Fit

Size to your waist, not your trouser size, and size up if you are between sizes — a trunk should sit flat on the thigh without the leg band rolling. The pouch should hold, not flatten; most of these use a contoured or U-shaped pouch for that. Check the waistband elasticity after a few washes; a stretched band is the first sign to replace.

Care

Wash cold with like colours, avoid fabric softener on modal and mesh (it clogs the fibres), and lay flat or tumble low. Separating lights and darks matters more with bright logo waistbands.
