The V-string is the barest practical underwear — a front pouch, a thin waistband and a single strap that runs between the cheeks. It is less than a thong and more wearable than a G-string for many. This collection pairs V-strings with the minimal T-back and G-string styles that sit beside them.

V-string vs G-string vs T-back

A V-string is one strap at the back; a T-back is a Y or T join; a G-string is the thinnest of all. the classic G-string and the Y-back thong are the classic G-string and Y-back; the butterfly thong and the dual-strap thong are low-rise butterfly and dual-strap styles for more coverage at the front.

Fabric and feel

Fit

Because there is almost no fabric, the waistband and pouch do all the work. Size to the waist, and make sure the back strap does not bite — adjust it once on, then forget it. The pouch should hold without spillage; if it rides, size up.

Care

Hand-wash or delicate cold cycle, no softener on mesh, dry flat. Thin straps snag easily, so keep them away from hooks and Velcro.
